Amendment to Etisalat Building Design Guide
[Refer to page 6 of Etisalat Building Design Guide. Replace the
content with the below text under the heading Flat Distribution
and Villa distribution ]

Flat distribution
!from indoor equipment cabinet.

Based on the service requirement per flat/office, a secured
indoor equipment cabinet with minimum internal dimensions as
per the Table 1. should be installed flush mounted on wall. The
cabinet should be dedicated to each office/residential flat and to
be located in a secured place. The location shall be suitable for
technicians access, when required.
Cabinet should have adequate number of aesthetically designed
holes for ventilation on the front door.
The location of the indoor equipment cabinet should be at a
common point where all the internal conduits meet. The
Structured Cabling System (SCS) should be installed on a star
topology and must be terminated on a suitable Patch Panel
inside the cabinet. However, the farthest socket must not exceed
90 meter from the cabinet.

Two power sockets are required, inside the indoor equipment
cabinet, for powering the optical network unit and battery
rectifier. The placement of the socket should be as per the
amended drawing in Annexure 2.

The cabinet should not be placed adjacent to any electrical main
distribution or bus bars, water pipes. It should not be exposed to
outdoor to prevent dust and water entry.

The cabinet should be installed at a height between 40 cm to 120
cm above the finished floor level.

All internal conduits should be of a diameter not less than 25
mm (1 inch) to extend the structured cables from ONU to SCS
socket locations at each room.
Villa distribution

Based on the service requirement per villa, a secured indoor
equipment cabinet with minimum internal dimensions as per the
Table 2. should be installed flush mounted on wall. The cabinet
should be dedicated to each villa and to be located in a secured
place. The location shall be suitable for technicians access, when
required.
Cabinet should have adequate number of aesthetically designed
holes for ventilation on the front door.

A secured distribution box of size 30 cm (W) x 30 cm (H) x 12 cm
(D) flush mounted on wall is required in every floor of the villa,
for distributing SCS, from the indoor cabinet.

The floor distribution box should be kept at a convenient and
easily accessible location where the floor distribution conduits
are terminated. It should be installed at a height between 40 cm
and 120 cm above the finished floor level.

The distribution boxes on different floors of a villa should be
connected through a PVC conduit, of a 50 mm diameter.

The distribution box should have one 50 mm (2 inch) conduit to
the rooftop of the villa, from the cabinet or from the telephone
entry duct location, in order to provide access to cables from the
antenna.

Note: Door can be Right or Left opening as per site convenience.
Please refer to Table in Pages 6 & 7 for the required W, H & D of the
cabinet corresponding to type of apartment or villa.

Note: Standard 19 Patch Panel can be fitted only inside the
Cabinet with 600mm Height. For 400mm Height cabinet, a shorter
sized patch panel should be used.

all the drawing for the Optical Network Termination Cabinet
should be replaced by the dimensions of Indoor Equipment Cabinet
as applicable as per Figure 1 and Figure 2 above)
