Showcasing amusement attractions, museum displays, live music, bake-offs, and more

ALTAMONT, N.Y. (July 25, 2014) --- The Altamont Fair, celebrating 121 years of county fair fun , will be
open to the public from Tuesday, Aug. 12 to Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Altamont fairgrounds.

The Altamont Fair is the only three-county fair in New York State. The fair represents Albany, Schenectady,
and Greene counties and expands over 138 acres. The fair includes exhibits and entertainment events, in
addition to a wide variety of food vendors.

Entertainers, live music and amusement park rides will be present at the fairgrounds every day. In
addition, there will be bake-offs, vintage car displays and art presentations.

Fair admission is $15 on Tuesday and Wednesday, $17 Thursday through Sunday. This one price

The fair will be operating from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day, exhibits open at 11 a.m., the carnival opens at
noon.

This year includes a variety of new attractions and enhanced acts that have been requested from past
years by fairgoers.

Altamont Fair officials are thrilled with the upcoming attractions.

This year, we are excited to introduce a unique motocross maneuver group named Brigade FMX. The
group is extremely talented and in the past has opened for major events including NASCAR. The group will
be performing on Thursday through Sunday, two shows each day and is expected to be an extremely
popular attraction for fairgoers, said Marie McMillen, manager of the Altamont Fair.

A new addition this year is the Altamont Wine Festival. The wine festival features New York State wines will
be held within the fair on Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. For only $5,
patrons 21 and over may a variety of locally produced wines and purchase their favorite.

The Coronas Hollywood Circus will be returning for their fourth year. Circus attendees will be able to see a
new acrobatic act including the gyro wheel, a new team of jugglers from Europe, a new clown and an

entertaining poodle dog act. The circus will be playing all six days of the fair, two shows a day on weekdays
and three shows a day on weekends.

In addition to the new attractions, the Altamont Fair offers diverse music entertainment, livestock shows,
4H exhibits and shows, arts & crafts and culinary competitions and great fair food,

The fair will be celebrating 121 years in 2014. In 1893, Altamont hosted the very first Albany County Fair.
Back then, the most popular spectator event was horse racing in the grandstand. Today, the fair stays true
to its traditional agricultural roots. While many aspects of the fair have been improved upon and added
since first opening over 100 years ago, the tradition and value of the Altamont Fair still exists today.

As part of the fairs commitment to honoring the men and women who served in the armed forces,
veterans and active military will receive free admission on Wednesday, August 13 until 4 p.m. A ceremony
to celebrate and honor those that have served will be held at 7 p.m. (Free admission does not include
rides). Wednesday is also Senior Day, free admission to those 65 years plus until 4 p.m. (Free admission
does not include rides).
