The Register entry may include the following information: Name; Place of residence; Precinct; Length of residence (in state, in county, in precinct); Native country or state; If naturalized, how, when, and where; General Remarks--race is noted when the registrant was "colored". This was the earliest record naming former slaves in the state of Texas.

GOOD AFTERNOON,YEARS AGO I WAS TOLD OF THE 1867 VOTER REGISTRATION RECORDS BY A GENEALOGICAL RESEARCHER.I FOUND MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER MILES RICHARDSON AND TWO OF HIS BROTHERS. ASBURY AND JULIUS.I HOPE I CAN FIND MORE OF HIS BROTHERS ON THE 1867 VOTER REGISTRATION RECORDS ? I WAS SURPRISED THAT MILES FATHER CHARLES RICHARDSON WAS NOT FOUND ? HE IS ON THE 1870 CENSUS OF DAVIS,TEXAS ON PAGE 64 ?
