Lieutenant Governors Suite, First World War
art exhibition open to public on August 4

Toronto, August 1, 2014. To mark the 100th anniversary of Canadas entry into the
First World War, the Lieutenant Governors Suite at Queens Park is opening its doors
to the public on Monday, August 4, 2014.
Displayed on the first floor of the viceregal suite is Lest We Forget, an exhibition of original
works by contemporary artist Charles Pachter commemorating the First World War.
Accompanying the art exhibition is a collection of essays by a distinguished and diverse
group of Canadians who reflect on the question What have we learned from war?
Contributors include: the Rt. Hon. J ean Chrtien, retired general the Hon. Romo Dallaire,
Prof. Margaret MacMillan, novelist J oseph Boyden, and Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish.
Members of public may visit the Lieutenant Governors Suite and Lest We Forget exhibition
during guided tours of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to hear a selection of popular music from the First World War,
recently recorded by the Faculty of Music of the University of Western Ontario.
A book featuring copies of the artwork and essays is available to visitors to the suite.
The exhibition is also viewable online at arts.lgontario.ca/lestweforget.
