They Loved Our Young Lovers At the Northwest OCTAfest Regioal!
Sarah Leidheiser
and
Chase Will
gave a tremendous performance as Beth
Finnegan and Brian Dowd in “
 Jerry Finnegan’s Sister
”. Sarah was a substitute
and only had her script for a week and a half but you would never have known
it as she never missed a line or a cue. Seven Playmakers arrived “bright and early” Saturday morning, June 7, at Fassett Junior High in Oregon to present
our show to the Northwest Region.
Steve Heineman
drove the truck that carried our two sets of steps, a bed and a night stand; the rest was filled with
Sarah’s many fast changes of clothes as she moves from a 6 year old to a 22
year old in 35 minutes.
Dale Jensen
helped Steve carry in and arrange the set on stage when it was time to go on.
Nadine Jenson
took the frantic job of helping Sarah with her changes so
Bonnie Segaard
could direct from the audience and give us the later feedback and I,
Millie Butts
, could direct from
backstage, get in everyone’s way and drive the Stage Manager crazy by asking
him how much time we had left. There were 14 excerpts and half were Musicals some very large cast (30
50) so the competition was tremendous. The Responders had great things to say about both actors in their verbal and
written critiques. Chase was awarded an “Excellence in Acting” and Bonnie and I received “Merit In Directing”. It was a wonderful weekend for Theatre!
