 A sensoris a device that measures aphysical quantity and converts it into asignal which can be read by an observer orby an instrument. For example, amercurythermometerconverts the measuredtemperature into expansion andcontraction of a liquid which can be readon a calibrated glass tube. Athermocoupleconverts temperature to an output voltagewhich can be read by avoltmeter.
