Details: This excursion is designed
and created exclusively for ICOMOS
delegates by author, Carol Faenzi. Her
book, The Stonecutters Aria, is based
on true stories of her Tuscan ancestor,
who emigrated from Carrara to
America one hundred years ago. An
artisan of Gothic tracery, he carved
many notable American landmarks
in Indiana limestone, including the
National Archives Building and
Pittsburghs Cathedral of Learning.
Notes:
Carol Faenzi and expert guide will
accompany the group.
Requires normal walking ability.
Lunch of several courses including
wine, in the ancient mountain
town of Colonnata, famous for a
culinary specialty known as lardo
di Colonnata.
