Hydraulic Fracturing

In reservoirs where low permeability is presented

an economically viable option is the stimulation by hydraulic fracturing to increase production
considerably also generating increased petroleum reserves.
Such stimulation is an effective way of improving the production or speed recovery, especially
during periods of rising prices of oil and gas, or the economic viability of a project requires a
quick return on investment.
Execution of Hydraulic Fracturing
First, a perforating gun is lowered into a targeted position within the horizontal portion of the
well. Then, an electrical current is sent down the well to set off a small explosive charge.
The holes created by the perf gun serve two purposes: they provide access for the fracturing
fluid to enter the formation and subsequently allows natural gas to enter the wellbore.
Basically hydraulic fracturing consists of the injection of a fracturing fluid at high pressure so
that when it reach the rocky reservoir break it creates a complex network of cracks in the
formation and is put into cracks one proppant agent for prevent it from the closing along the
time.
When the formation starts is beginning to bring oil through fractures, at the same time the
fluid fracturing is produced mixed whit the oil production and then it will be recovered from
the well, is treated and reused in future frac jobs. principal uses

Repair damage in the vicinity of the well.
Create fractures deep penetration to improve productivity.
Help Secondary Recovery operations.
Help in storage in the basement.
