grade teachers. Mrs. Dennis, your childs other teacher, and I partner teach and share students with one another. For the 2014-2015 school year I will be teaching your child Math, Science, and Social Studies, while Mrs. Dennis will teach Reading, Writing, and Spelling.
5 th grade is a fun, exciting grade, full of new adventures and responsibilities, and I am very excited to see what the upcoming school year has in store for us! Because agendas are such a valuable tool in the school- home communication connection, they are expected to be signed nightly. Failure to do so will result in a loss of recess time.
Friday Folders are sent home each Friday and contain the graded work your child has completed that week, as well as newsletters, permission forms, and other important information. Please look at all of the documents inside and sign the form indicating you have reviewed the papers with your child. Folders are due back Monday morning. Homework is a vital asset within the classroom. We send homework home in order for students to practice the target skills that we are currently working on in class. If your child does not complete their homework assignments, they will have lunch detention the following day.
Students take daily notes in order to help with homework. If your child doesnt bring home their notebook, ask them why! If your child tries, but does not understand the material please write us a note so that we can address it during class time!
