Nearly 3 in 4 managers see stronger economy ahead
By Timothy Inklebarger
Source: Pensions & Investments
Seventy-two percent of fund managers expect the world economy to strengthen over the coming
year, according to the Merrill Lynch Survey of Fund Managers for September.

The survey of 234 fund managers, managing a combined $667 billion, shows cash balances
increasing to 4.1% of total assets, up 0.4 percentage points from a month earlier. Managers who
were overweight cash was a net 10%, down seven percentage points from a month earlier, and
those managers overweight equities dropped to a net 27%, down seven percentage points.

“September's jump in cash levels and lower equity exposure shows that investors' risk appetite lags their confidence in the recovery,” Gary Baker, head of European equity strategy at Banc of America Securities-Merrill Lynch Research, said in a news release about the survey findings.

“The consensus expects a global recovery but expects it to be below trend and not inflationary,”
Michael Hartnett, chief global equities strategist, said in the release.
A net 1% of respondents was underweight the eurozone, although 10% were underweight U.K.
equities, down three percentage points from August.
From Recruiting Trends: Redefining Job Search and Talent Acquisition

Despite America being on the road to a slow economic recovery, the quest for top talent continues.
For the majority of U.S. employers, many do not have a comprehensive social media recruitment
strategy in place. Similarly, job-seekers do not know how to effectively leverage social networks in
their job search. Mylatch.com, a platform that connects job-seekers and employers leveraging
Branding, Video Technologies and Social Networks, enables job-seekers to search for open
positions, create and distribute their personal brand using a webCV, leverage social networks real-
time in their job search as well as interview online with employers. For employers, the search engine
provides an opportunity to brand for talent acquisition, use a combination of traditional and social
media recruiting tools, research candidates and interview candidates online in stages through
innovative video evaluation tools. "In today's world of collaboration and networking, companies
should not have to shell out dollars to post jobs and search resumes. With Mylatch.com, such
services are completely free, and the search is more relevant and targeted. Its features are designed
to help companies lower recruiting costs and streamline talent acquisition," says Pratik
Roychoudhury, Mylatch.com's founder/CEO. One of the site's many features allows job-seekers to
find insider connections to target companies from their LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter networks, and
allows employers to engage all employees in a viral referral-recruiting process using Facebook. "Our
features streamline the process reducing the number of candidates invited for an on-site interview
thereby boosting recruiting ROI," adds Roychoudhury.

JMC Job Search Tips(Simple Things pt 104…)
Finding your message stride…

A little know fact is that when we’ve been in the workplace for a while, we tend to take certain things for granted such as our communication style. Just like anything else that we do “only perfect practice makes perfect” and when we tend to get a little slack in our delivery. Normally this is due to a bit of overconfidence that results ironically from having been recognized as being a good communicator. There’s way too much talented competition out there to expect hiring managers to overlook flubs so

polish up your spiel…
