(The story begins with the audience

seeing two places at once: The coo-coo
bird far away missing home, and the
entire Crystal Castle cohort
celebrating the princesss birthday. As
the royals do a royal dance of birthday
celebration, the coo-coo bird sings
about missing home.)

(Interspersed with the dancing - the
guests come up and offer the princess
birthday gifts and say happy birthday
in accents, or in different languages
(Mandarin, Italian, Spanish, French
Filipino, German) - ice-skating
penguin(s) come around and offer people
food and beverages with some vaguely
European accent.)

talking about home and the crystal
castle, and decides to get the crystal
for him/herself. )

(The villain puts the coo-coo bird
under a spell. The villain scoops up
glitter, and sprinkles it over the bird
while reciting the spell: )

RECIT: THE VILLAIN ASKS IF
THE BIRD REMEMBERS THE WAY TO
THE CASTLE. THE BIRD DOES:
VILLIAN
What is shortest route back to the Crystal Palace?
COO-COO BIRD
First we need to slide down the Magical Rainbow
Then we will go through the Mystical Forest
After that we will fly over Dead Hunter Swamp
Past the Cotton Candy Clouds
And into the Glowing Enchanted Icicle Tunnel
Then we are there!
(The villain gets on the coo-coo birds
back, and they fly away.)
(Traveling Music)
(Back at the crystal castle, the queen
is standing in the royal garden near
the crystal tree. She sees something
flying high in the sky, and recognizes
it as the coo-coo bird.)
QUEEN
(recitative)
The Coo-Coo bird has returned.
The Coo-Coos back from the trip.
I'm so happy I might die.
(As the queen watches, the bird lands
on a far off hill, and the queen sees
something small jump off the birds
back. Thinking this is strange, the

queen gets her magic binoculars. She
sees that the coo-coo bird is talking
to someone. )
QUEEN
(recitative)
Who's that?
What might that be?
I wonder who it is?
(The queens binoculars are also a
great hearing enhancer. She listens in
on the conversation, and hears them
planning to steal the crystal diamond.)
RECIT: VILLAIN AND COO-COO BIRD
HATCH A PLAN AND THE QUEEN
OVERHEARS
VILLAIN
We are going to steal the Crystal Diamond!
COO-COO BIRD
But how, evil leader?
VILLAIN
I will go into the vault and take it!
COO-COO BIRD
How, great one?
VILLAIN
You need to get the butler so I can put a spell on
him!
COO-COO BIRD
Yes, Master. But why?
VILLAIN
So the butler can steal a crystal warrior suit.
COO-COO BIRD
How come, Grand Chief?
VILLAIN
So I can disguise myself and go in the vault and steal

Oh magnificent plan, sir!
(The queen doesnt know the coo-coo
bird is under a spell, and feels upset,
sad and mad all at the same time.)
QUEENS ARIA

(Mad)

You sloppy dirty beast.
You betrayed us.
All of us.
We always treated you like family.
(She is now unhappy, disappointed, and
very sad.)
QUEEN
I didnt know being the Queen would be this painful.
How could he do this to us?
The kingdom will fall apart.
There will be no more snow.
There will be no love in the land.

(The Queen and King discuss what they
have heard and come up with a plan )

THE CRYSTAL WITH A FAKE

make sure that the villain does not get the crystal
diamond.

(The king nods yes.)
QUEEN
We shall replace our real diamond with a fake diamond.
KING
Yes, yes, yes,! What a magnificent idea! We shall
replace it!
QUEEN
This must not be told to anyone especially the love of
our life, our little princess because this would only
put her in danger!
KING
Ooookay
(The queen takes a fake crystal from
her scepter, and makes it look real by
adding a lot of glitter.)
(The crystal warriors never know about
the switch, and continue to guard the
fake crystal as if it were the real
one.)
(The Coo-Coo bird and the Villain
tunnel under the castle wall and then
the Villain puts the Butler under a
spell.)

(During the dance the villain has the
butler secure him a full Crystal
Warrior outfit, which he then wears to
disguise himself. )
(The butler takes these from the
warriors as they are dancing.)
(Butler and Coo-Coo Bird go to where
the crystal is stored at night and
because they are members of the palace
are able to get past the Crystal
Warriors who guard the crystal like a
human shield. )
(The Coo-Coo and the Butler don't know
that they have a fake. )
(As they march across the stage, the
warriors sing of their success)

The Queen is pleased.
We did a good job.
The Crystal Warriors have saved the day!
(When the villain finally handles the
fake crystal, he/she looks at it in

super close up, and tries to smell its
power.)
(A piece of glitter gets caught in the
villains nose, and the villain
sneezes. The sneeze is so big, that the
crystal drops and breaks.)
(The villain is seething with fury)

Grrrrrr
Where is the real diamond?
Where has it gone!
I should have known!
Its a fake! Its a fake Its a fake!

(Meanwhile, back at the castle . . . .
the head warrior goes to check on the
crystal only to discover that it has
been stolen. )

Oh no, we let him get away with the diamond.
Now, hes going to rule the world.
And now, the castles going to fall over.
No guys, I think we can just give up!
(Warriors with Walkie Talkies)
(News spreads as word of that the
Scene - 3/31/14 4:56 PM / 9
crystal has been stolen spreads through
the castle.)

The Crystal diamond is missing.
The Crystal diamond is missing . . . gone!
(In the ballroom the Villain is
dissolving in anger and frustration,
but then he hears Princess singing
about how still she loves her family
and land even if there is no longer a
crystal diamond. )

I loved you
I remember how the castle shined with your magic.

Then the Coo-Coo joins the song )
(The villain further transforms until
one by one, they all come closer to him

(Everyone freezes while the Villain and

and then the whole world! And the
villain is forgiven and all is well.
His black (costume heart?) changes in a
beautiful red and gold and sparkly
one.)
