sings like a woman three times her age, a soul sensation in her native U.K. Adele attracted the
attention of XL Recordings with her three demos on their MySpace profile and ended up signing
with the label. Since its debut, the album 19, Adele was critically acclaimed and was a sales
success. Adele released her second album 21 on January 24, 2011 in England and Feb. 22 in the
United States. The album was a commercial success and critics, selling 208,000 copies its first
week of sales in the UK premiere first.
