We wish to thank Sri G.V.Prabhakara Murthy from Bangalore for instantly providing
Saptarishis Astrology with the copy of this manuscript for translation. Without his efforts Shri.
Raghavendra Rao would not have been able to complete this project. At the same time we wish to
thank Shri Rao, for working extremely hard in quickly providing translation of this work without
any delay. Finally we must thank Late Kompalli Narasimha Sastry without whose efforts these
manuscripts containing rare knowledge would have remained only in a few select houses. From
then till now it is 78 years, yes 78 years from the time a single state in India read this work and
now worldwide this work is available, forget the time we all lost from Singararya till now (approx
600 years), none knows as no dating is given in original manuscript. Once you have spent 40-50
honest years in astrology you would realize after re-reading this work that it is one of the most
important documents to ever come out in recent times, this manuscript translation has given us
immense pleasure, this is a real contribution by the people concerned. - SA



SA Translators Introduction

ataka Raajiyyamu is an ancient astrology work written by Shri Singararya.
Date of the author and the work is not correctly known. However from the
source of Jataka Raja published by Mohan Publications, Rajahmundry it is
ascertained that this work might be written around 600 years ago.
On the request of Shri Saptarishis Astrology I have undertaken the task of
translation of 1. Goutama Samhita, 2. Jataka Rajiyyamu 3. Vanchanadhiyamu.
I procured the book Jatakarajiyyamu from Sri G.V.Prabhakara Murthy of
Bangalore, which is in Telugu Script with Telugu Commentary by Shri Kompella
Narasimha Sastry, Published by Sastri Jyotishalayam, Tuni, East Godavari District,
Andhra Pradesh, India, in the year 1933. Another Book entitled Jataka Rajamu, edited
and commentary written in Telugu by Shri Sridhara Siddhanthi and Sreedhara
Viswanadha Sastry published by Mohan Publications, Rajahmundry in the year 2007. I
have compared and collated both the books and completed translating task in the
scheduled time.
Regarding this Book I have no words to say about its richness in the subject of
Astrology & especially Jaimini mata (School of Jaimini thought), several untouched hidden
secrets were explained. The Book published in 1933 contains only 617 verses. The Book

published in 2007 contains only 607 verses. The difference is the Last Chapter. Sastri
Publications published predictions of 12 rasis in the last chapter and left Dasa Bhukti
results, whereas in the Mohan publications Book Jataka Raja the last Chapter they
published Dasa Bhukti results and left the predictions of 12 rasis. I have added the Dasa
Bhukti predictions part as an appendix to the original book (1933 version) and also added
the left over verses there and there while comparison and collation with the verse
numbers suffixed with alphabets, e.g 12 a, 16 a, 38 a, 62 a, b,c,d.
This book contains Planetary qualities, details about 6,8,12 bhavas, longevity,
Karakas, Karakamsas, computation of Dasa Bhukti, important planetary combinations,
about amass, arudha padas, dwara (gate signs), Dasa periods, Dwadasa Rasi phalas .
Jataka Rajiyyamu is a Pomegranate of Jaimini Astrology & Traditional Astrology filled
with the verses of Navaratnas (9 gems) viz., Rubies, Pearls, Corals, Emeralds, Topazes,
Diamonds, Sapphires, Garnets, Cats Eye. My SA Team has distributed it to the world of
Astrology & brought this hidden treasure for which I am proud with humility.
I think I have made an adventure to take up translating the above books into
English with my limited knowledge. I humbly request the Scholarly world to forgive if
they found any mistakes and bless me.
My sincere thanks once again to Saptarishis Astrology, for encouraging me to
complete this task. I owe to SA for giving an opportunity to serve and get published the

benefic, Waning moon is one fourth benefic, Purna Chandra is equivalent to Guru. From Sukla
Astami to Sukla Ekadasi (i.e., bright half eight day to eleventh day) and from Krishna Panchami
to Astami (i.e., dark half fifth day to eighth day) moons rays reduced by 25% and has with 75% of
rays is equivalent to Sukra. Half Moon is half benefic i.e., equivalent to Budha. Sani and Ketu are
completely malefics. Kuja is 75% malefic. Ravi is 50% malefic. Waxing moon is 75% malefic. If
Budha is combined with malefics it is 75% malefic.

Budha and Sukra combined with Purna Chandra are equivalent to Guru. Rahu always moves in
retrograde direction. Ravi placed in Dhanur Rasi is equivalent to Guru. Combust Chandra and
Debilitated Chandra is equivalent to Sani. Chandra aspected by Sani is also equivalent to Sani.
Scorpio is debilitation sign to Chandra. If Chandra aspected by Saturn and Guru, is equivalent to
Guru. Here waning moon aspected by malefic planets is acting as benefic, but not as malefic.
Chandra placed in Gurus signs is equivalent to Guru. Though Chandra placed in Karkataka
having malefic relations gives malefic results only. Similarly Budha having malefic relations is
malefic.

leads to malefic results. If benefic planets having Lagnadhipatya (Ascendent Lordship) or
Karmadhipatya (10th house Lordship) gives extremely benefic results. Likewise if malefics also

Sukra is karaka for their mother; Chandra is karaka for the mother and Hands to those who were

This is a fantastic verse, in our previous writings we have maintained that 3

house is brothers in general and when
we go deeper it is classified further into 3H for younger siblings and 11H for elder siblings. Interesting to note that the
author also gives Wars, Vessels, Jewels for the 3H. Husbands whose wives have hurled kitchen vessels can see how
their 3H or 3L is afflicted in natal or in transit. Or those who lost jewels during a house theft can see the same and

Some have said it is their research that 5H is heart, apart from this work another classic also quotes the same that 5H
is heart, the interesting fact is here the author is taking Guru as karaka for intelligence (usually astrologers take
Mercury) and also for heart, usually astrologers take Sun, another interesting point to be noted is 5H is allocated to
Maternal Uncles when normally we take 6H as it is 3

From Ninth house -rrr wealth, theertham (auspicious places), father, penance may be judged.
Sukra is karaka for -rrr wealth, Guru is karaka for Theertha (auspicious places), penance. Surya
is karaka to father those who born during day time, Sani is karaka for those who born during night
time.

A native has 7L debilitated in sign of Saturn and this Saturn, aspects 6H of thieves and in turn is aspected by 6L. Semi
similar pattern repeats from Moon Asc, every rainy season minimum 3 umbrellas are lost or stolen by/from this native.
Maybe the verse has some strength. This losing umbrellas has been happening in the natives lives from 25 years non-
stop. - SA

Malefics in the 7H there would be teeth problems, this verse is found in other classics but yet astrologers have ignored
this point, probably the reasoning of the verse in other classics has been that it is 6th of diseases from 2H, hence. This is
the first time we remember any work mentioning 7H for dental and often we have seen that if 7H/7L from Asc and
Moon Asc is afflicted it gives dental problems, astrologers in such case should advice dental insurance if they find it
consistently working. In one case 7H has dire debilitated malefic, 7L debilitated and its dispositor aspected by 6L and
also aspects 2L, the complete upper teeth has decalcified and the young native does not have upper teeth. - SA

Probably no where you would find that 8H is karaka for secrecy and Mercury is karaka for secrecy. If one applies it in
the chart of Late C S Patel you would see that 9L of higher knowledge Jupiter was sitting in the 8H of secrecy and
Mercury the karaka of secrecy was sitting in the 6H of Pending Karma, Mercury is also karaka for writing, the
knowledge that he held maybe in previous lives he gave it out as pending karma by writing for the first time ever. His
works then on Arudhas, Ashtakvarga, Nadi astrology and Navamsa were the first significant contributions in those

Some Vedic astrology practioners from Europe who have done astrology course from a leading European but Indian
Guru based organization insists that 9H is knees as taught in their course, normally here in India we regard 10H and Cp
for knees. Another interesting thing is usually we regard Sani as karaka for knees but here Guru is taken as karaka,
most interesting thing is Venus is taken karaka for profession and name fame. - SA

When we study a shastra one will always get diverse opinions, and one must always mentally remember these
variations as it helps. For e.g. in the book Aghora-Part 3: The Law Of Karma by Robert E.Svoboda, the Aghori-Yogi
Vimalananda says on Page 186 Because of too frequent sex his (Mr Shantilals) Ojas is very low and his joints has
become weak. Too much sex usually hits first in the knees. The 3 book series Aghora has been a path breaking best
seller since the late 1990s & is not an easy to digest material, one has to come out of his prejudices before

has strength. A Rasi having Ravi or Sani happened to be own sign, friendly sign, exaltation and
having one and two planets it is said to be powerful. Result is based on four types of planets viz.,
mantling planet, Aspecting planet, Vedhaka planet, obstructing planet. Among them if Bhadhaka
is having strength leads to excellent result.

This is a very important verse if we have understood it well and we can be wrong. Readers who have read Kalpalatta
(note it is the most difficult work to understand) will get the hint that there are other methods mentioned in it for
determining the natal lagna and the lagna that we consider in traditional astrology is not the True Lagna always as
per this theory. In observation we have seen once only Shiv ji (who comes from a true Jaimini Tradition of many
generations from the Pidaparthy Dynasty) to use a different natal lagna than what astrologers take as lagna. Coming
