VATHTHAL KUZHAMBU-III:
Ingredients:Tamarind- a big lime-sizeGingelly oil- 4 tbspMustard seeds- 1tspBlack gram- 1tspRed chillies- 4Curry leaves- 1 springSmall onions- 1 cup[finely chopped]Slit green chillies- 4Turmeric powder- 1tspChilli powder- 2 tspCoriander powder- 4 tspCooked lentils- ¼ cupChopped coriander leaves- 1 tbspAny dried vathals like eggplant, etc- an handfulSalt to tasteProcedure:Soak the tamarind in water for 1 hour and then extract its thickjuice.Heat a kadai and pour 4tbsp gingelly oil.When the oil becomes hot, add the mustard seeds.When they splutter, add the black gram, red chillies, and curryleaves and fry well. Then add the small onions and green chillies.Fry for a few minutes and when the onions become soft, add themixed vathals.and fry for a few seconds.
