Applications are invited from eligible graduate candidates for admission to the
following Post Graduate Diploma Programmes of one year duration offered through
Distance Education mode for the year 2014
Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDPM): Any graduate from a recogni
zed university
Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (PGDLAN): Any graduat
e in Library Science from a recognized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws and Intellectual Property Rights (PGDCL and
IPR): Any graduate from a recognized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM): Any graduate from a recogn
ized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Management (PGDENM): Any graduate from a recogni
zed university
Post Graduate Diploma in Communicative English (PGDCE): Any graduate from a reco
gnized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science (PGDCJ and FS): A
ny graduate from a recognized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Governance (PGDG): Any graduate from a recognized unive
rsity
Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights (PGDHR): Any graduate from a recognized un
iversity
Post Graduate Diploma in Translation Studies in Hindi (PGDTSH): Any graduate wit
h Hindi as one of the subjects from a recognized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications (PGDTC): Any graduate with Maths and
Physics or Electronics as subjects from a recognized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Medicinal Botany (PGDMB): Any graduate from a recognize
d university
Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Rural Development (PGDSRD): Any graduate fr
om a recognized university
Post Graduate Diploma in Technology Management in Agriculture (PGDTMA): Any grad
uate from a recognized university with two years experience
Post Graduate Diploma in Bio-infromatics (PGDBI): Any science graduate with 60%
marks from a recognized university
Eligibility Criteria: Admissions to the Distance Education PG Diploma programmes
are open to all those who fulfill prescribed qualifications without any discrim
ination of race, caste, creed, language, age or sex
Admissions are made strictly on the basis of merit
However entrance examination will be conducted for the Management Diploma course
(PGDBM)
The marks obtained by the applicants in their graduate examination (B.A./B.Sc/B.
Com/B.Lib.Sc/B.E./ B.Tech/ M.A./M.Sc/M.Com/MBA) is the basis on which the merit
list for admission is prepared for all courses
Therefore only students who have completed their courses/degree or at least have
taken their final examinations (awaiting results) are eligible to apply for adm
ission into these post graduate diploma programmes
However, additional academic qualifications and professional experience are take
n into consideration for all admissions (for courses to be offered in 2014 only
students who are graduated on or before 31st December, 2014 or have taken the fi
nal examination in September/October, 2014 and are waiting for results are eligi
ble to apply)
The target groups for these programmes are either in-service personnel looking t
o improve their skills and knowledge or fresh graduates wishing to acquire quali
fication and improve their employability
Students pursuing other full time or part time courses in this university or oth
er universities/institutions may also seek admission to these programmes provide
d they fulfill the eligibility criteria
The eligibility of students passing their qualifying examinations from universit
ies following the letter grading system/cumulative grade point average (CGPA) wi
ll be determined on the basis of percentage equivalent to the letter grade/CGPA
obtained by the students as per the conversion formula adopted by the university
concerned
In the absence of any such formula, the decision of this university will be fina
l in determining the percentage equivalence
Selection Process: The candidates selected for admission will be intimated by ma
il/post individually under certificate of posting and also through the email (ad
dresses if provided to the CDVL office)
The list of selected candidates will also be displayed on the notice board at th
e Centre for Distance and Virtual Learning
Foreign Student: Foreign students residing in India or abroad are eligible to ap
ply for admission in the prescribed form within the stipulated date
Those who have passed the qualifying examination from universities outside India
should enclose relevant certificates (marks sheets with the English version) (i
f they are in a different language), duly attested for admission to any programm
e, the foreign students must have passed the qualifying examination and proficie
ncy in English is a pre-condition for admission
Admission Procedure: Students found eligible will be issued provisional admissio
n letter
Only the students who pay the fees within the stipulated date are treated as adm
itted
Mere receipt of admission offer letter does not entitle any right to claim admis
sion
Students should furnish full information with proof, by attaching Attested Xerox
copies of marks sheets provisional certificate and other relevant academic/ pro
fessional records
Irrespective of the claims made by an applicant on the proforma, marks weightage
would be given only on the basis of certificates and transcripts that are attac
hed
Application Form: Prospectus cum application can be obtained from the office of
the Centre for Distance and Virtual Learning, Golden Threshold, Nampally, Hydera
bad on payment of Rs 350/- cash (including registration fee)
Further, application can also be downloaded from the university website www.uohy
d.ernet.in and the filled in application along with a demand draft for Rs 300/-
drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of Finance Officer, University of Hyder
abad towards registration fee may be sent to the Assistant Registrar, CDVL Golde
