Hardware Built for Performance, Reliability, and Scalability
The demands of real -t i me vi deo and audi o recordi ng pl ace uni que st rai ns on st orage subsyst ems. St orage syst ems requi re t he bandwi dt h and
capaci t y t o keep up wi t h i ncomi ng vi deo st reams. They must al so si mul t aneousl y manage al l ot her common di sk and RAID f unct i ons as wel l as
vi deo st reams t hat need t o be recorded and pl ayed back on a const ant basi s. In addi t i on, physi cal securi t y appl i cat i ons are al most al ways

The NSM 5200 has been engi neered t o meet t hese uni que perf ormance and rel i abi l i t y demands. Cust om hardware component s, t o el i mi nat e
common perf ormance choke poi nt s t o a pat ent ed scheme f or wri t i ng cont ent t o a di sk dri ve, have been speci f i cal l y desi gned t o del i ver sust ai ned
hi gh t hroughput f or recordi ng and pl ayback. The NSM5200 i s capabl e of a maxi mum of 250 Mbps of t hroughput f or i ncomi ng st reams whi l e
del i veri ng 32 si mul t aneous pl ayback st reams when f ai l over i s not i mpl ement ed. Thi s perf ormance i s mai nt ai ned whet her t he syst em i s operat i ng
i n normal condi t i ons, deal i ng wi t h di sk dri ve errors, or rebui l di ng t he RAID array.
The NSM 5200 i mproves t he t ot al cost of ownershi p and energy ef f i ci ency by consol i dat i ng di sparat e component s i nt o a si ngl e chassi s. The
250 Mbps t hroughput provi des doubl e t he i mprovement over Pel cos f i rst generat i on recorder, al l owi ng users t o servi ce f ar more cameras i n one
