SAC CITY PLANNING & ZONING BOARD

Sac City Council Chambers
The regular monthly meeting of the Sac City Planning & Zoning Board was held on
Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 6:30 P.M. in the Sac City Council Chambers with the following
board members present: Micki Quail, Susan McCollum, Curtis Bloes and Frank Strain
along with city council representative, Teresa Bruening. Board members Arnold
Thomas, Vicki Strouth and Bobbie Wells were absent as was P&Z Officer, Stacy Carlson.
Meeting was called to order by President Micki Quail.
Motion by Frank Strain and seconded by Curtis Bloes to approve the agenda as
presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Curtis Bloes and seconded by Susan McCollum to approve the minutes of
the June 17, 2014 P & Z Board Meeting as presented. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
Curtis Bloes updated the board on the Spring Cleanup Program. He has received two
applications but neither applicant had before pictures so they are not eligible. He also
reported that the prize money for the program is now at $350.00. The board discussed
distribution of ads for the program with each building permit issued in order to increase
participation. Curtis will check with the city to see if that is possible.
The board had again scheduled review of Sac City Zoning Ordinances, but due to the
absence of P & Z Officer Stacy Carlson, motion by Curtis Bloes and seconded by Micki
Quail to table this item and place it on the August agenda. Motion carried.
The board reviewed plans for a community visioning meeting scheduled for August 19,
2014 at 6:30 P.M. at the Sac Community Center prior to the boards regular monthly
board meeting for August to discuss future use of the old Sun Wise property once that
building is demolished and the lot cleared. Notice of the meeting will be published in
the Sac Sun and posters will be placed in Sac City businesses to let the public know about
the meeting. Board members will provide refreshments and bars or cookies.
NEW BUSINESS:

There was no new business and no further discussion by the board.

The next board meeting will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Sac Community
Center following the community visioning meeting at 6:30 P.M.
Motion by Susan McCollum and seconded by Frank Strain to adjourn. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
