PSALM111 (NRSV)
1Praise the Lord! I will givethanks to the Lord with my whole heart, inthe company of the upright, in the congre-gation.2Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.3Full of honor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever.4He has gained renown by his wonderfuldeeds; the Lord is gracious and merciful.5He provides food for those who fearhim; he is ever mindful of his covenant.6He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations.7The works of his hands arefaithful and just; all his precepts are trust-worthy.8They are established forever andever, to be performed with faithfulness anduprightness.9He sent redemption to hispeople; he has commanded his covenantforever. Holy and awesome is his name.10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have agood understanding. His praise enduresforever.

PSALM 112 (
RSV)
1Praise the Lord! Happy are thosewho fear the Lord, who greatly delight inhis commandments.2Their descendantswill be mighty in the land; the generationof the upright will be blessed.3Wealthand riches are in their houses, and theirrighteousness endures forever.4They risein the darkness as a light for the upright;they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.5It is well with those who deal generouslyand lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.6For the righteous will never bemoved; they will be remembered forever.7They are not afraid of evil tidings; theirhearts are firm, secure in the Lord.8Their hearts are steady, they will not beafraid; in the end they will look in triumphon their foes.9They have distributedfreely, they have given to the poor; theirrighteousness endures forever; their horn isexalted in honor.10The wicked see itand are angry; they gnash their teeth andmelt away; the desire of the wicked comesto nothing.
