King Charles Emmanuel III gives order in 1734 to recruit protestant Vadois of the Valley of Luserna, S. Martin andPerrero. The new unit is organized in 10 companies and is raised in pignerol and it is called Battalion de La Reine. In1741 La Reine becomes Regiment
 La Regina
with two battalions of 10 companies each. During the AustrianSuccession War in 1746 the second battalion is disbanded.
 
Service during the Polish Succession War
 
 La Regina
is raised at the beginning of this war. It has probably only garrison duties.
 
Service during the Austrian Succession War
 
At the outbreak of this war
 La Regina
is campaigning in north-east Italy in the Po plains, and it is present in marchin the cities of Cortemaggiore. In September
 La Regina
’s 1st battalion marches on the Alps; from the camp at LaThuile, near Petit S. Bernard gap in Aosta Valley the Regiment takes action in Savoy during the counter-offensiveagainst an invading Spanish army. In jenuary 1743
 La Regina
returns again in Piedmont. After the debacle in Savoy'stheatre for
 La Regina
is now the Varaita Valley where the main french-spanish army is on the offensive. In order to stopthis break-in the 1st battalion fights at the battle of Casteldelfino (8 october 1743). The follow year the whole regimentis present at the hard combat around the entrenched camp of Villafranca (20-21 april 1744) in the Mediterranean front.During the defence of Collet du Villefrenche the Regiment is surrounded with othes units and is compelled to surrendwith two batteries of cannons. During the summer the struggle is again in the Alps ridge. The french-spanish's offensivebreak the defensive line. The whole Regiment is at the battle Madonna dell'Olmo (30 september 1744), situated on thecentre, second line. The fight is not particullary lucky. The regiment loses one of its flags. In 1745 La Regine defendsthe south west sector of Piedmont supported by the Placesfortes. In the follow years

has garrison duties andis transferred in the mediterranean theatre.

Uniforms
 
1730-1750:
White coat, red lining, cuffs, waistcoat, breeches. White gaiters for fusilier, black for grenadiers. Nine brassbuttons in three ranks of three on each side of the coat, three on the cuffs. Horizontal pockets. Tricorne with dark bluecockade on the left brim and yellow hem for fusiliers, bearskin cap for grenadiers.
 
1750-1773
(only principal differences from the previous issue): Dark blue coat, red lapels and collar. Seven brassbuttons on lapels, a single one in the top and two ranks of three. Tricorne with white hem and yellow and blu pompon.Bearskin cap with red tail with yellow hem and yellow and red pompon.
