Covering the design, fabrication, erection and modication of structural steelwork, AS4100 has been brought up to date with revisions to the following Australian and New Zealand Standards: AS/NZS 1163 Cold-formed structural steel hollow sections AS/NZS 3678 Hot-rolled plates, oorplates and slabs AS/NZS 3679.1 Hot-rolled bars and sections AS/NZS 3679.2 Welded I Sections AS/NZS 1554 Structural Steel Welding AS 1170.4 Structural Design Actions Earthquake Actions in Australia Amendments also cover the inclusion of quenched and tempered, AS3597 compliant steels to the list of compliant steels covered by AS4100. Changes to Clause 2.2.2 on Acceptance of Steels reect industry concerns, particularly those of designers and asset owners, on the quality of steel supplied into their projects. The supplied steel, must now have a test report or certicate with minimum requirements as set out in the Standards for individual structural steel products to demonstrate compliance to AS 4100. Furthermore, test certicates shall be provided by an independent laboratory, accredited by the International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation or the Asia Pacic Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation such as NATA. Appropriate test certicates are available for all products manufactured by OneSteel to the Australian Standards referenced in AS4100, and are third party certied by ACRS, which provides further condence for designers and asset owners. ACRS conrm the technical competence of suppliers and provide assurance of a consistent product that meets the Standard to which it is certied. An amendment to AS4100 Steel Structures, was published by Standards Australia in February this year. Test Certicates are available for all OneSteel products manufactured to the Australian Standards referenced in AS4100, and are third party certied by ACRS.
