THE CLOCK
SCREENING

Winner of the Golden Lion award at the 2011
Venice Biennale, The Clock by Christian
Marclay samples thousands of excerpts from
the history of film that indicate the passage of
timefrom clock towers to wristwatches to
buzzing alarm clocksthat the artist has
edited together to unfold on the screen in real
time as a 24-hour montage.

recording featuring music of English
Renaissance composer John Dowland at
SubCulture on Bleecker Street on Thursday,

Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at

EXHIBITION OPENING

Pentimenti Gallery is delighted to present the
paintings of Swiss artist Franco Mueller for
the month of September. The exhibit
entitled, Transferable Views, will be open
from September 1 to September 28 with an
artist reception on September 5, from 6:30 -
8:30 pm. Franco Mueller is a self-taught artist
and the recipient of many awards and
honors: Paul Zuppinger Prize; Malerei
Kanton Solothurn Prize and
Wekjahresbeitrag Kanton Solothurn.

OLAF BREUNING
PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION

Public Art Fund presents a playful new
commission by Olaf Breuning entitled
Clouds installed at the southeast entrance to
Central Park. The artists largest public art
installation in the United States to date, the
work features six clouds rendered as childlike
drawings made of polished blue aluminum
towering nearly 35 feet above the plaza and
mounted on seemingly makeshift steel
supports.

THE ST. PETERSBURG PARADOX
EXHIBITION

Based on the theory of the same name
developed by 18

THE INTUITIONISTS
EXHIBITION

The Intuitionists is a collaborative project by
artists Heather Hart, Steffani Jemison, and
Jina Valentine. Inspired by Colson
Whitehead's novel The Intuitionist, the
exhibition considers how the collection, the
database, and the aggregate serve as
complementary models for the organization
of information and objects in flux. Among the
artists featured in the exhibition are
Elisabeth Eberle and Caroline Tavelli-Abar
from Switzerland.

EXHIBITION

The Swiss Touch in Landscape Architecture
provides an insight into the extreme richness
and variety of Swiss landscape architecture
and presents the relevant works of renowned
Swiss architects such as Bernard Tschumi,
Herzog & de Meuron and that of engineer
Jrg Conzett. The exhibition was produced
by Pro Helvetia, curated by Michael Jakob,
and made possible by Presence Switzerland.

the New City proudly present the world
premiere of the English version of In The
Ring, by Swiss - French author and 2014
Moliere Awards nominee, Leonore
Confino. A part of the Dream Up Festival
2014, this intriguing play explores the
universal conflicts between men and women,
when they are "in the ring." Instead of
traditional scenes, these are rounds in a
boxing between two actors interpreting
different characters. The play runs through
September 6, 2014.
