Miller-Meeks
August 20, 2014 | By Press Release

Two Day Visit With Stops In Bettendorf, Mt. Pleasant, Ottumwa,
Oskaloosa, & Iowa City

OTTUMWA, IOWA Today, Dr. Miller-Meeks is proud to announce that Representatives
Diane Black, R-Tennessee & Ann Wagner, R-Missouri will be joining her on the campaign trail
this Wednesday and Thursday for stops across Iowa's Second Congressional District.

"I'm delighted that Representatives Diane Black and Ann Wagner are joining our campaign,"
said Dr. Miller-Meeks. "Both are strong leaders in the House of Representatives fighting for
patient-centered health care reforms, policies that create good-paying jobs for our middle class,
and a government that works for all of us."

They will be holding various events to highlight Dr. Miller-Meeks background in medicine and
her solutions to address the dysfunctional mess in Washington.

Reps. Black & Wagner are involved in the National Republican Congressional Committee's
(NRCC) Project GROW (Growing Republican Opportunities for Women) - an initiative
dedicated to expanding the presence of Republican woman in Congress through recruitment,
training, and support. The kickoff event of the trip will be a luncheon fundraiser at the home of
Maggie Tinsman, former state legislator from Scott County, who helped create 50/50 in 2020 an
organization dedicated to creating equity for women in Iowa politics by the year 2020. Local
women leaders will be highlighted during the event along with the announcement of the
"Women for Miller-Meeks" coalition.

As a nurse of over 40 years, I am proud to throw my full support behind my friend, Dr. Miller-
Meeks, said Congressman Black. Our nation is at a cross roads, and now more than ever we
need problem solvers in office who know how to responsibly address our broken health care
system and bring commonsense to divided government. Dr. Miller-Meeks will bring a needed,
experienced real world voice with her to Washington.

"Dr. Miller-Meeks' over two decades in the United States Army, her knowledge of our broken
healthcare system and her leadership for Iowans is exactly what Washington needs," said
Representative Wagner. "I know Dr. Miller-Meeks will work tirelessly in Congress to return
healthcare decisions back to families and individuals and away from government bureaucrats. I
am excited to endorse and campaign with this strong leader for Iowa."
