Timeline Motif
Repeated contrasts, literary devices or structures that develop and contribute to a specific theme or the mood in the text. Has symbolic significance in the work.
Em Dash
A pause in the reading of a sentence, showing a break in the flow of thought or speech.
Ellipsis
“...” Suggests a pause,
Rhetorical questions
A question asked for effect, not designed to elicit a response.
Emotive language
Language designed to elicit a strong emotional response from the reader; usually highly descriptive in nature.
