MovieMaker Magazine 2014-15 Internship Opportunity

MovieMaker Magazine, established in 1993, is one of the oldest and most widely-read independent film
magazines in the country. We've just published our 109th print issue, and as we embark on the next, we're
looking for a few dedicated undergraduate or graduate interns with impeccable writing and organizational
skills to help us expand our print and web properties.
Interns will begin the week of September 8th at the start of the fall session (or sooner), meeting with the
Digital Editor at least two days per week on campus; other times, working remotely. Candidates interested
in entertainment journalism are especially welcome, as there is ample opportunity to get their work
published over the course of the internship.

Including a brief writing sample with your cover letter and resume is optional but preferable, please.

Duties include:

- Assisting the Digital Editor with daily tasks, including copy-editing, fact-checking, research for features
and various other editorial duties (careful attention to detail is a must)
- Writing articles and conducting interviews for web and/or print platforms
- Email correspondence with film festivals, distributors, and filmmakers

- Web updates and general site management

- Social media outreach (via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
- Assistance with subscription and other promotional campaigns

Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student

- Impeccable writing and communication skills

- Knowledge of and passionate interest in independent film

- Knowledge of Social Media platforms across the spectrum

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

- Bonus: Familiarity or proficiency with PhotoShop
