RANGERS MANAGER RON WASHINGTON:

On Martinezs outing:

He just didnt command the baseball the way he had been earlier. He couldnt keep his fastball away like he wanted to, he
couldnt get his breaking ball over with consistency and he left his change-up up a lot tonight. He just didnt have his
command

On Paxtons performance:

He was good. I think hes one of their promising young arms. He throws the ball hard and has a good breaking ball. I
didnt see much of a change-up. But he dropped some good breaking balls off in there and moved the fastball around with
some velocity. He has a good arm.

On poor hitting:

They shut us down. We had a couple of chances to score runs and we just didnt. And all of it was with two outs. We just
couldnt get it done.

On Martinezs lack of experience:

Its hurt him. Its just that when things arent going as well as hed like them to go hes still trying to find out how to get
back in sync. He was out there competing tonight, he just couldnt get in sync with anything. It is inexperience.
