C-848 DC-Servo-Motor Controller
DC Motor Controller for 2 or 4 Axes
The C-848 is a flexible, multi-purpose, rackmount position-ing and motion controller forDC servo-motors. It is designedfor general positioning andautomation tasks in researchand industry.
Flexible Multi-ProcessorArchitecture
Based on a dual-processorstructure, the C-848 offers theflexibility expected in today´sdemanding prototyping andhigh-precision production en-vironment.In parallel with the generalprocessor handling communi-cation and macro execution, afast DSP motion-control chip-set is dedicated to trajectorygeneration and servo-control.In addition to three inputs perchannel for limit switches andhome position, eight TTL in-puts and eight TTL outputs areavailable for flexible automa-tion.The C-848 also offers advancedmotion control features suchas:
Linear interpolation
Trajectory generation fortrapezoidal and s-curve pro-files
Electronic gearing
Real-time reference and limitposition capture
Integrated Servo-Amplifiers/-PWM Output
Integrated, low-noise, linearpower amplifiers allow opera-tion of any PI micropositioningsystem without additionalexternal amplifiers, reducingcosts and simplifying thesetup. In addition to the linearamplifiers, PWM (pulse widthmodulation) output signals areavailable to drive PI microposi-tioning stages equipped withActiveDrive™ motors.
PI General Command Set(GCS)
The comprehensive commandstructure is based on the PIGeneral Command Set (GCS).With GCS the development ofcustom application programsis simplified, because the com-mands for all supported de -vices are identical in syntaxand function. PI controllers fornanopositioning systems, forpiezomotors and servo or step-per motors can be commandedwith GCS.
Software / Programming
In addition to the user softwarefor setup, system optimizationand operation, comprehensiveLabView™ and DLL librariesare provided.Control of the C-848 is provid-ed either through the RS-232 oran optional TCP/IP interface. For manual control, the unitcan be operated with aC-819.10 joystick. The C-848 can also run instand-alone mode, and a stan-dard computer keyboard andmonitor can be connected fordirect programming.
