C-663 Mercury™ Step Controller
1-Axis Networkable Stepper-Motor Controller
The Mercury
TM
Step steppermotor controller is the perfectsolution for cost-effective andflexible motion control applica-tions where a precision posi-tioner is to be controlled by aPC or PLC (programmablelogic controller). The C-663supplements the successfulC-863 Mercury
TM
servo motorcontroller.Microstepping of 1/16 full step(up to 6400 steps/rev. with PIstepper motors) provides forultra-smooth, high-resolutionmotion.
Multi-Axis Control,Combination of DC & StepperMotors
The networking feature allowsthe user to start out with oneMercury
TM
controller and addmore units later for multiaxissetups. The Mercury
TM
Step steppermotor controller shares its pro-gramming language with thewell-established Mercury
TM
DC-motor controller. Up to 16Mercury
TM
controllers (DC andstepper) can be daisy chain-ed and operated from onecomputer.
Flexible Automation
The C-663 offers a number offeatures to achieve automationand handling tasks in researchand industry in a very cost-effective way. Programming isfacilitated by the high-levelmnemonic command languagewith macro and compound-command functionality. Mac-ros can be stored in the non-volatile memory for later recall. For easy synchronization ofmotion with internal or exter-nal trigger signals four inputand four output lines are provi-ded. A joystick can also be con-nected for manual control.Stand-alone capability is pro-vided by a user-programmableautostart macro to run automa-tion tasks at power up (no run-time computer communicationrequired!).
User-Friendly: ComprehensiveSoftware Package andTwo Interface Options
Easy data interchange with lap-top or PC is possible via theUSB interface. To facilitateindustrial applications, an RS-232 interface is also standard. The included software sup-ports networking of multiplecontroller devices. LabVIEW
TM
drivers and Windows DLLsallow for easy programmingand integration into your sys-tem. Mercury
TM
Step control-lers can also be operated usingthe PI General Command Set(GCS) via a DLL. PI-GCS allowsnetworking of different PI-con-trollers such as piezo driversand multi-axis servo control-lers with minimal program-ming effort.
Contents of Delivery
