December 2009Dear Ritamen, Families & Friends:

“How is St. Rita doing?”I hear this rom so many people - alumni, riends, past parents. My answer is always the same -“wonderul.” This is not a ip answer but rather it is a reality. The reason is that we are ourishing on 77thand Western in our 105th year and 20th year on our new campus. We are ourishing because o the commitment to excellence o our 707 current Ritamen who strive to excel in the classroom, inathletics and extra-curricular activities and in their spiritual lives. And this is all done living out ourAugustinian core values o
Veritas, Unitas, and Caritas - Truth, Unity, and Love
. The ourishing success we are experiencing is made possible in large part because o our generousbeneactors. In a year where our economy is in a horrible state, you, our beneactors, gave anincrease o 5% to our Annual Appeal. This just does not happen. You believe in what we are doingand you help make it happen! Thank you rom the bottom o my heart! Please know we pray or you, our alumni and beneactors, every morning in our school prayer. Wecould not ourish without you!I always tell our students and everyone else that St. Rita is not about buildings. We proved that whenwe moved rom 63rd Street 20 years ago, but it is about people. Our 23,207 alumni Ritamen, our707 present student Ritamen, and all our beneactors, parents, and amilies make St. Rita possible.Without you we would not be here today!I am also very pleased to announce the 1905 Guild is growing everyday. This is composed o allwho have put St. Rita High School in their estate plans and wills, and all who told us they will beremembering us in their estate plans and wills. Please consider joining the 1905 Guild and makinga dierence or all the Ritamen who will come in the uture.St. Rita High School is thriving because we are encouraged by the words o our Holy Father St.Augustine, “Always Make Progress.” Thank you or making these words a reality because o your generosity!God bless you and may St. Rita powerully intercede or you and your amily! In Truth, Unity and Love,Rev. Thomas R. McCarthy, O.S.A. ‘83President
