considered
the
appointment
of
members
to
the
TexasWindstormInsurance
Association
Board
of
Directors
(the
“Board”)
pursuant
to
Chapter
2210
of
the
TexasInsuranceCode
as
amended
by
TexasHouse
Bill
4409
of
the
8
l
Legislature.TexasHouse
Bill
4409amends
Chapter
2210
of
the
Insurance
Codeby
revising
the
composition
of
the
Texas
Windstorm
Insurance
Association
Board
of
Directors.
As
amended,
Section2210.102requires
thatthe
Board
shall
consist
of
nine
votingmembers
appointed
by
the
Commissioner
of
Insurance.
Four
members
must
be
representatives
of
the
insurance
industry.
Fouradditionalmembersmustreside
in
thefirst
tier
coastalcounties.One
of
thesefourmembers
must
be
a
licensedproperty
and
casualty
agent
andnot
a
captive
agent,and
each
of
thefour
members
must
be
from
differentcounties.
One
membermust
be
a
representative
of
a
non-seacoast
territory
area.
Thesenine
members
must
have
experience
in
insurance,generalbusiness,
or
actuarialprinciples.
Additionally,
one
non-voting
memberappointed
shall
be
a
licensedengineer
who
resides
ina
first
tiercoastal
county
andhas
expertise
in
wind-related
design
and
construction
practices
in
coastalareas
subject
to
hurricanes.
This
engineer
member
shall
advise
theBoardon
inspectionrelated
issues.
After
consideration
of
thismatter,
the
Commissioner
of
Insurance
has
determined
thatthe
followingpersons
are
qualified
to
serve
on
theTexas
WindstormInsurance
Association

of
Directors:
