Welcome toWarmth in Winter 2010!GOING THE DISTANCE!

Thank you for registering your group for Warmth in Winter 2010!
We havegreat plans for our upcoming weekend together. We hope this resource will helpyou to make your plans for our time together. Please look over the followinginformation and let us know if you have questions.THERE ARE SOME VERY IMPORTANT NEW THINGS IN THIS GUIDE, Pleaseread. There might be a prize in it for you.
Youth Leader Responsibility
Of course, anytime there are youth gathered together, there will be some creativebehavior! As stated in the brochure, your church is responsible for the disciplineof your group throughout the weekend. The design team does not want to takeover discipline for your group, but we would like to make the followingsuggestions that we feel would be helpful to all groups, help keep us safe andenhance the weekend experience for all.
The Tennessee Conference expects the adult leaders who come with their youth to conference, district and local events to be responsible role models inareas of Christian living. This would include public consumption of alcoholicbeverages and if tobacco products must be used, we ask that discretion isshown to do so out of the view of youth in designated smoking areas.
We ask adult leaders to be in proximity to their youth housing rooms whenyouth have returned to their rooms for the evening. There is often space onthe hotel floor you are occupying to gather for discussion.
We strongly suggest a minimum of one adult per eight youth in attendance. At least one male and one female adult should be present, regardless of thesize of your group, if both male and female youth are represented.
You should bring a medical form for each of your participants. This is for your use. This should include parental contact numbers. Parents should alsoknow how to reach you in case of emergency. We will have access to theregistration and health forms you submitted in case of emergency.
Know where your youth are as much as possible. Instruct them that they arenot to leave the building, and should never leave the Embassy Suites Hoteland Convention Center without an adult (or at least a specified group size).
No Stress Tip:
Specify a location that will be a meeting place for your groupall weekend. Set a few times during the weekend for your entire group tocheck in.
