MY CONGRATULATIONS

Thaddeus DeLucaleft a comment

I guess I missed the point of your "Circle," is it the circle of life, or the roundabout we are all traveling about. Imegry is everything; the old masters never made a stroke of the brush that didn't have a subliminal message; what is your message? Please educate me-Thankyouverymuch!

Melinda Matyas replied:

Yes, it is about the roundabout... My message? It's about the fact that actually there is no message in anything, we are the part of a circle, it owns us...

Nice technique, powerful images; but I have to wonde...who in the world would take a bath with their clothes on? It would have been more realistic if the subject were nude-suicides in a bath are almost always in the nude-not enough pain in the subject matter. It focuses too much on technique, and different shots of the same photograph. Keep at it, better luck next time. Did you paint this Melinda?

Melinda Matyas replied:

It wasn't my intention to make realistic paintings, nor to show a woman's body, but to represent a "circle" tthat is happening over and over again and we (humans) are a part of it.....as the title itself says... (and it is not about suicide...)
