People have many misconceptions aboutleadership. When they hear that someonehas an impressive title or an assignedleadership position, they assume that heor she is a leader.
Sometimes that’s true. But in reality titlesdon’t have much value when it comes toleading. True leadership cannot beawarded, appointed, or assigned. It has tobe earned. The only thing a title can buy isa little time – either to increase your levelof influence with others or to erase it.
