For the next 40 days, after His resurrection from the dead,

Jesus walked among His disciples, encouraging their hearts and

explaining details of their mission now that He would be
leaving them. And on the fortieth day, just before returning to
Heaven, He told the disciples to return to Jerusalem, saying,
Wait for the promise of the Father, until you are strengthened
with power from on High! You will receive power after the
Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses!
Nei quaranta giorni successivi alla Sua resurrezione, Ges
continu ad apparire ai discepoli, incoraggiandoli e
spiegando i particolari della loro missione. Il quarantesimo
giorno, prima di ascendere al Cielo, Egli domand loro di
tornare a Gerusalemme, affermando: Aspettate ci che
mio Padre ha promesso, fino a quando non sarete rivestiti
di potenza dallalto! Infatti, riceverete potenza quando lo
Spirito Santo verr su di voi e mi sarete testimoni!
The Apostles returned to Jerusalem, and with
well over 120 other disciples, stayed all together
in an upper room praying and waiting in
obedience to Jesus last command.
Ten days later an awesome manifestation of
Gods power occurred: A sound like the rushing
of a mighty wind filled the whole house where
they were, and they saw the appearance of
many tongues of fire that rested upon every one
of them. And they all were filled with the Holy
Spirit!
Gli apostoli ritornarono allora a
Gerusalemme e, insieme ad oltre 120 altri
discepoli, rimasero insieme in una sala ad
attendere in preghiera, ubbidendo allultimo
ordine lasciato da Ges prima della Sua
ascensione.
Le loro preghiere vennero esaudite dieci
giorni dopo con una manifestazione improvvisa
e maestosa del potere di Dio. Un suono come
lirrompere di un vento impetuoso riemp tutta
la casa in cui si trovavano e apparvero loro
delle lingue come di fuoco che si dividevano e
che andavano a posarsi su ciascuno di loro.
Tutti furono riempiti di Spirito Santo.
There was a great religious festival going on in the
streets of Jerusalem at that time, and visitors from
many foreign nations had come for the annual
celebration. When the disciples stepped into the
streets, they all supernaturally began to speak in
the languages of the multitudes visiting Jerusalem
that day, yet none of the disciples had ever known
before how to speak those languages! The
disciples boldly witnessed to all of the crowds
about the wonderful news of Gods Love in Jesus.
As a result, about 3,000 people received salvation.
Era la festa giudaica della mietitura, una delle
pi importanti feste religiose del popolo ebraico,
e le strade di Gerusalemme erano gremite di
pellegrini di ogni nazione, radunatisi per celebrare
quellevento annuale. I discepoli uscirono per
strada con lanimo traboccante dello Spirito di Dio
e si misero tutti a parlare perfettamente le diverse
lingue della folla che li circondava, lingue che essi
non avevano mai parlato prima! Senza indugi
cominciarono a predicare la meravigliosa novella
dellamore di Dio e della salvezza che si ottiene
mediante Ges Cristo e tremila persone si
convertirono alla fede cristiana.
Not long afterwards, Peter and
John went up together to the
temple. A man who had been born
lame was being carried to the
temple door. Each day he was
placed beside this door, known as
the Beautiful Gate. He sat there
and begged from the people who
were going in.

Un giorno Pietro e Giovanni
salivano al Tempio. Presso la porta
del Tempio che si chiamava la
'Porta Bella' stava un uomo, storpio
fin dalla nascita. Lo portavano l
ogni giorno, ed egli chiedeva
l'elemosina a quelli che entravano
nel Tempio.
The man saw Peter and John
entering the temple, and he asked
them for money. Peter said, I dont
have any money, but I will give you
what I do have. In the name of Jesus
Christ from Nazareth, get up and start
walking. Peter then took him by the
right hand and helped him up.
At once the mans feet and ankles
became strong, and he jumped up and
started walking!
Il uomo vide Pietro e Giovanni che
stavano per entrare, domand loro
l'elemosina. Pietro invece gli disse:
'Soldi non ne ho, ma quello che ho te lo
do volentieri: nel nome di Ges Cristo, il
Nazareno, lzati e cammina'. Poi lo
prese per la mano destra e lo aiut ad
alzarsi.
In quell'istante le gambe e le caviglie
del malato diventarono robuste. Con
un salto si mise in piedi e cominci a
camminare!

A crowd of people quickly came to
see the man who was healed. Peter
said to them, Why are you so
amazed? We did not heal him through
our own power or goodness. Rather, it
is the power of Jesus and the faith that
Jesus gives that healed this man.
Many of the people believed Peter's
message, and 5,000 people were
added to the believers that day.




Tutti pieni di stupore e di meraviglia
per quello che era accaduto. Vedendo
ci, Pietro si rivolse alla folla e disse:
'Perch vi meravigliate di questa
guarigione? Voi ci guardate come se
fossimo stati noi a far camminare
quest'uomo. Invece stato la fede nel
nome di Ges che quest'uomo che voi
vedete e conoscete ha riacquistato le
forze.
Molti di quelli che avevano ascoltato
la predicazione degli apostoli
credettero, e la comunit dei credenti
aument di numero fino a circa
cinquemila persone.
In the days that followed, Peter and John faced a
wave of persecution from the same wicked
religious leaders who had crucified their Savior.
But there was no fear, no cowardice, no denial!
Peter stood before their councils testifying with
such unflinching courage and authority of the
Spirit that the Bible says, When they saw
the boldness of Peter and John and realized that
they were uneducated, ordinary men, they were
astonished and they took note that these men
had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)
Nei giorni successivi, Pietro e Giovanni subirono
unacerrima persecuzione da parte degli stessi
invidiosi capi religiosi che avevano crocifisso il
loro Salvatore. Questa volta per essi non
reagirono pi con il timore, la codardia e il
rinnegamento. Al contrario, Pietro parl con
tanto coraggio e tanta autorevolezza al
tribunale religioso che lo aveva fatto arrestare,
che, come leggiamo nella Bibbia, quando essi
videro il coraggio di Pietro e di Giovanni e
compresero che si trattava di uomini illetterati
senza istruzione, si meravigliarono e si resero
conto che essi erano stati con Ges (Atti 4,13).
The moral of this amazing true story is that
you too can be filled with God's Spirit.
Although you do not need to receive the Holy
Spirit in order to be saved and go to Heaven,
we certainly need a filling of God's love and
His Holy Spirit power to do God's will in our
lives.
Have you received God's Holy Spirit into
your heart? All you have to do is ask! It is a
gift, ready for the taking. "Ask and it will be
given to you." (Matthew 7:7)
Il messaggio stupendo che questa storia
vuole comunicarti che anche tu puoi avere la
stessa potenza, ricevendo lo Spirito Santo di
Dio! Anche se non necessario ricevere il Suo
Spirito per ottenere la salvezza, tutti noi
abbiamo bisogno di essere pieni del Suo amore
e della Sua potenza per avere la forza di
compiere la Sua volont, ci che Egli vuole da
noi personalmente nella nostra vita.
Hai ricevuto il potere dello Spirito Santo?
Devi solo chiedere a Dio di dartelo! E un
dono che devi solo chiedere e ricevere!
