phosphodiesterase

monophosphate
degradation
(cAMP). This
action increases
cAMP in platelets
& blood vessels,
which inhibit
platelet
aggregation &
causes
vasodilation. This
in turn relieves
symptoms of
claudication.

Peripheral
vascular disease

Headache,
diarrhea,
fast/irregular
heartbeat,
swelling of hands
and feet, easily
bruising/
bleeding, black or
tarry stool, vomit
that looks like
coffee grounds

Contraindicated in
patients with
hemostatic disorders
or active pathologic

Hypersensitivity to

intramascular route
