OklaFilm & OklaMusic

Thursday, December 10, 2009 - Sunday, December 13, 2009

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but This Week in Film & Music is so delightful,
and if you’ve no place to go, here’s a show, here’s a show, here’s a show.
There can be no signs of stopping, when we have a movie for those who love
shopping. Check out The September Issue at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art
with the lights down low, and a cuppa Joe, cuppa Joe, cuppa Joe. When you finally
get to have a night, don’t be out in the storm. Let deadCENTER treat you right with
shortSUITES at Photo Art Studios to keep you warm. This rhyme is mercifully
dying, but there’s one more thing before good-bying, if you love Red Dirt so, check
out the 14th Annual Red Dirt Christmas at Cain’s to leave you feeling all aglow, all
aglow, all aglow.

Thursday, December 10 – Sunday, December 13

The September Issue
Anna Wintour, the legendary Editor-In-Chief of Vogue magazine for twenty years, is
the most powerful and polarizing figure in fashion. The September 2007 issue was
and remains the biggest ever, weighing over four pounds, reaching an audience of
thirteen million people and impacting the global fashion industry more than any
single publication. An intimate, funny, and surprising look at Wintour and her team
of larger-than-life editors, the film reveals the extraordinarily passionate people
behind the magazine.

Cheap Trick
Combining a love for British guitar pop song craft with crunching power chords and a
flair for the absurd, Cheap Trick provided the necessary links between '60s pop,
heavy metal, and punk. Led by guitarist Rick Nielsen, the band's early albums were
filled with highly melodic, well-written songs that drew equally from the crafted pop
of the Beatles, the sonic assault of the Who, and the tongue-in-cheek musical
eclecticism and humor of the Move. Their sound provided a blueprint for both power
pop and arena rock stylings.
