New Brunswick Customer Service Center for Public Service Electric & Gas
Company Receives LEED Silver Certification
NEW YORK, NY JANUARY 24, 2014 The US Green Building Council awarded
Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G) with a Leadership in Energy
& Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification for the New Brunswick
Customer Service Center.
M&E Engineers provided mechanical and electrical engineering for the
PSE&G Customer Service Center renovation in New Brunswick. In addition to
reducing water consumption by 35%, using waterless urinals and ultra low
flow fixtures and using LED lights and occupancy sensors to reduce lighting
energy usage by 37%, 87% of all equipment and appliances are Energy Star
rated. The Customer Service Center benefits from high efficiency heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning systems and windows. Gerard Hazel, M&E
Engineers Commissioning Agent advised PSE&G on the most appropriate
green design and building elements to achieve their goal of making their
customer service facilities as green as possible.
The New Brunswick Customer Service Center is PSE&Gs fourth customer
service center to earn LEED Silver Certification.
