How to Promote Positive Thinking and Healthy Self Esteem
One of the ways that is very important to maintain a fresh and healthy out look on life in general is to distance yourself from negative influences when ever possible (this is very, very critical to maintaining a positive attitude). Ask yourself, what type of shows do you tend to watch on TV the most?
How often do you watch the news, and how does your thought pattern re-act to negative news? When you're with your friends again, take notice to the types of conversations that you have amongst yourselves. Do you notice an excessive amount of profanity being used by you or the company of people that you associate with on a regular basis?
There's studies that support the fact that in most cases when people use profanity on a regular basis, there's a direct connection as to what they think of themselves in terms of self respect and the respect for others. It is nearly impossible for an individual to display positive thinking and healthy self esteem when there's no evidence of self respect and respect for others.
I started being more conscientious of the matters when I became a parent, I knew that I wanted to be a better example to and for my kids, and not just be a hypocrite by saying: "do what I say do, not what I do". Positive thinking and healthy self esteem does have it's physical benefits as well, we see the evidence of it every day with people in the entertainment world. I don't think an actor, singer, or an athlete will get very far in their career without positive think and healthy self esteem.
I would hate to see an NFL team trying to get to the Super Bowl with a lack of confidence and low self esteem, the same goes for a professional boxer entering the ring for Championship fight, or an acting auditioning for a leading star role. It's never too late for any of us to make improvements in our lives.
