Mr Paul Penfold is a Chartered Personnel & Development Manager, trainer and educational technologist. He has worked in Europe and Asia as a training
and development consultant since 1992, specializing in e-Learning, curriculum development, instructional design and corporate training. In 2005 he joined
the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Hotel & Tourism Management as Educational Development Manager to support teaching and learning in
the School and is developing e-Learning programmes for SHTM such as a Virtual Hotel in Second Life. He is an experience project manager having run
projects for global companies such as Barclays Bank, Shell International E&P and Mobil Oil and has designed training programmes for organizations
such as MTR Corporation, Singapore Tourism Board, Oxford Brookes University and Standard Chartered Bank. He is currently project manager for a
UNWTO technical assistance program for the Guilin Institute of Tourism in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. He and his wife also own and
run a small hotel in Phuket Island , Thailand .
