Edition, April 2009
With every change of season, cometransformations and most obvious isthe newness of life emerging duringthe end of winter and the beginningof spring. In this Spring edition, the aroma andfragrance of life comes in variousways. Since the last cuppa together,we were able to bless the SSNDSisters (we lease our houses fromthem) with some Chinese cuisine. Itwas all hands on deck for anafternoon to bring the ambience tothem. Their dining room wastransformed into a Chineserestaurant. The mood of the eveningwas causal, with lots of tantalisingdishes beckoning us to enjoy, and wedined with excellent company. At theend of the meal, Mario wasgraciously invited to give someupdates on what had beenunfolding in the Mission, especially with the Ghana MedicalCentre. Impressions of good foodand great company lingered onfor some days after that...Before long, the feasting gave way tofasting with the beginning of Lent. This period of growing deeper wasalso a season of re-evaluating andrediscovering. For both Grace andCatherine, we were blessed with anopportunity to be guest students at acourse on
Prayer of the Heart.
Though those few Saturday morningswere early rises, they were morethan worth in refreshing our interiorlife.During this period, we had a fewguests staying with us. First it wasSumi who had just finished S.O.M inAllerheiligen, then we had thepleasure of having Rainer Hensel fora week to lend us some muchneeded manpower in maintainingthings around the office, and in ourresidences. Mario was delighted tohave some male bonding time with abrother; even fixing an antenna onthe roof provided this fellowship. Ourovergrown garden gazebo andhedges in the office compound hadsome timely trimming to get intogood shapefor Spring. From thework thatRainer haddone, weare inagreementthat it’sthumbs up,and
