Mojo is our internal energy,inspiration and power that propels us joyfully forward in life, allowing us to fulfill our goals and act upon that which we desire. In short,mojo is our fuel for a happy and productive life.

“grumpies?” Chances are, youneed a mojo boost.Like most of us, yourenergy levels are beingadversely affected bythe negativity weare absorbing inthe midst of the widespreadchallenges, bothon Wall Street andon Main Street.Going to work when you’reconstantlyhearingaboutlayoffs orreadingabout thelatest companyshutting its
doors is difficult.
And trying toremain creative,upbeat andproductive can betwice as hard.Before we beginto boost our mojo, weneed to understandwhat mojo is. Mojo
is reflected differently
in each person, yet itsessence is the same forall of us.Our tanks getlow on mojo whenwe allow it to becomestagnant, depleted orsucked away from us by
others. However, we can fill
our tanks whenever we wish.All it takes is some intention,conscious awareness andchoice.So how can we boost ourmojo? Weacquire moremojo whenwe chooseactivities thatare healthy, balancedand blissful.At work especially,this means
finding the
silver lining, even when timesare tough. But don’t despair!
Below are five simple yet
effective mojo boosters to helpyou out of the recession rut:
1)
 
Be good to yourself.
 
One of the most importantsteps you can take to boostyour mojo is to adopt arigorous plan for self-care.Choose healthy foods to eatand snack on, avoid eatingon-the-go, and especiallyavoid too many empty (albeitcomforting) sugary foods andsimple carbohydrates.Get outside at least oncea day to breathe in one of nature’s biggest mojo boosters:oxygen! All it takes is a simplewalk around the parking lot or
office plaza to get your energy
 boost.Also, don’t be shy when itcomes to getting those fortywinks over the weekend,soaking in a tub, or getting amassage. Take care of your body so it will take care of you.
2) Be playful
.
When is the last timeyou’ve seen a child withoutenergy? It rarely happens!Most children have oneagenda item on their list:have fun. They revel in theact of creating, exploringand playing. We can learnsomething from these smallerteachers by incorporating alittle more play into our lives.At work, think about theways you can bring more playinto your cubicle. Displayyour favorite bobble-head or
figurine on your desk. Use
your lunch break to play a board game with co-workerswhile you eat. Sign up for a joke-of-the-day email.
Outside of the office, pick 
shells on the beach, play withyour family outside or evenrun on the Slip’nSlide in the back yard. Let your inner kidplay again!

Our mojo gets sappedwhen our minds endlessly jump from task to task, ormore precisely, obsess overproblem after problem.
