ALL PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT NINA STRONG AND THE POETA FAMILY
Sixteen year old Nina Poeta is a cheerleader for Seymour High School and a talented gymnast and was having trouble with headaches
while performing her routines. On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, she received an MRI of her brain because of these headaches. The
next day her family was told to bring Nina to Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital where she was diagnosed with a mass
on her brain. They were told the cancerous tumor Is located in her brain stem and can't be surgically removed.
Right now Nina should be starting her senior year at Seymour High School and cheering for the football team as they begin their
season. Though this is a very difficult time, Nina is not letting this break her spirit! She was determined to participate and made it to the
home opener on Thursday night! With the help of Seymour EMS, the Seymour High School administration, the Board of Education and
her Cheer Family, Nina was present on the field for this special game. The community came out in their Ninastrong T-shirts. Donations
may also be dropped off at the academy. Thank you for your support!!
