CABMAKER 6
Getting Started
Welcome
Thank you for downloading CabMaker. This application converts impulse response les into cabinet deni-
tions for the Kemper Proler. This way you can incorporate impulse responses of speaker cabinets from
the internet and elsewhere into your own Kemper Proler rigs.
Installation
OSX: Run the CabMaker installer. It creates a folder called Kemper Amps within the application folder.
Within this folder, both the CabMaker application as well as the documentation can be found.
Windows: Run the CabMaker installer. It creates a folder called Kemper Amps within the program les
folder. Within this folder, both the CabMaker application as well as the documentation can be found.
Getting started
CabMaker supports conversion of multiple les; you can select as many les as you need within the le
selector which opens at startup. Alternatively, drag impulse responses onto the program icon to start the
conversion. In order to convert a le, simply open it up and follow the instructions.
GETTING STARTED 7
Transferring converted cabinets
CabMaker exports native .kipr les ready to be used with the Kemper Proler. In order to transfer the les
from your computer, copy them to the USB stick you use to update the amp. In case you have not pre-
pared a USB stick for that purpose so far, please refer to the Basic Manual for further instructions.
1. Copy all .kipr les exported by CabMaker to the Shared folder on your USB stick
2. Unmount the stick and plug it into the USB port of your amp.
3. Select the soft button External Storage and choose Import/Export followed by Import to transfer the
new local presets.
4. Navigate to the CABINET edit page within the STACK section and browse through the new local cab pre-
sets using the BROWSE knob.

their availability to you at any time.
Software Limitations
CabMaker requires the impulse response le to be wave les (.wav format), sampled at 44.1kHz and either
16 or 24 bits deep. Other le formats are not supported. The utility takes approximately the rst 1.5 sec-
onds into account; since impulse responses are typically very short, this should prove more than enough.
You can literally take any type of signal and turn it into a cabinet; in most cases, this is unlikely to result

in a very usable cabinet, but feel free to experiment! Please note, however, that any signal which is not a
proper impulse response will lead to an unpredictable result which might be anything from simply boring
to downright unpleasant.
Act responsibly
CabMaker transcodes a wave le. This means that if you dont own the rights to a particular impulse re-
sponse, you can probably use it yourself without consequence; however, you shouldnt redistribute it with-
out prior permission from the original author. Please bear this in mind when you upload new rigs to the Rig
Exchange on the Kemper Amps website.
