British Dance Edition 2010Facilitated Package for 5 West Midlands Delegates
British Dance Edition is an internationally important event for the dance sector, welcomingdelegates from across the world to watch, discuss and purchase dance performance by UK baseddance makers. However, the event is also important for dance makers in the host area. In 2010,British Dance Edition is being held in Birmingham, hosted by DanceXchange and, as well asprogramming a number of West Midlands based artists, DanceXchange have worked with theRegional Dance Agencies to develop a support package for those working in dance in the region tofacilitate their attendance as delegates, and widen the benefits of this attendance.This package is open to all those working in dance in the West Midlands on a professional basis,and could include dance artists, dance managers, producers, programmers and dance educationspecialists. The key criteria for selection are a clear indication of how this opportunity will enableyou to develop your own personal professional practice, and contribute to the dance landscapewithin the region. There are 5 facilitated places available.The package briefly comprises of the following:
A full delegate pass for attendance at British Dance Edition, on all four days of the event(3
rd
- 6
th
February), including attendance at performances/events of your choice (capacitypermitting)
Facilitated discussion and debate, as a group, on the work included in BDE and issuesraised at BDE, both before, during, and following the event.
A number of BDE 'buddies' during the event, who may be members of the National DanceNetwork or Regional Dance Agency staff, and will be responsible for facilitating groupdiscussion and maximising networking opportunities for the group
Travel expenses to enable you to travel to Birmingham for pre and post event discussionand British Dance Edition itself.
Accommodation costs will be paid if this is clearly necessary due to distance travelled fromhomeThere are a number of restrictions for this opportunity. Applications will
