From Carnegie Hall to Montalvo’s Historic Villa: Albers Trio, Jan. 10, 2010
SARATOGA, Calif. – On Jan. 10, 2010, Montalvo Arts Center presents the
Albers Trio
, a seasoned string triomade up of violinist Laura, violist Rebecca, and cellist Julie. From their twos to their 20s, the Albers sistershave captivated audiences with musical styles as diverse as their distinctive personalities. Graduates of theJuilliard school, the Albers Trio has performed at Lincoln Center, National Theatre in Taipei, Severance Hall,Weill Recital Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, and Zankel Hall. Their performances have also been seen andheard on
Live from Lincoln Center 
, Kennedy Center Honors, Japan’s NHK, Washington, D.C.’s,
Voice of America 
and Bavarian Radio.The Albers Trio performs on Jan. 10 at 3 p.m. in the historic Villa at Montalvo Arts Center. Tickets are availablenow through the Montalvo Box Office and through Ticketmaster.com and the day of the performance.The Albers Trio performs as part of Montalvo’s Villa Chamber Music Series, Montalvo’s most diversepresentation of chamber music to date, with a roster of seasoned, emerging and revolutionary performers. Laura
is the Associate Concertmaster of the San Francisco Opera. She, as well as her sisters, beganstudying Suzuki violin with their mother, Ellie LeRoux, at the age of two. Laura went on to receive her Bachelorand Master of Music degrees from The Cleveland Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, where shestudied with Donald Weilerstein and Ronald Copes. Laura has performed and taught on both violin and violathroughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. She has also participated in the Cabrillo Festival ofContemporary Music, Rhode Island’s Newport Music Festival, the Sarasota Opera Festival in Florida and anOrpheus Chamber Orchestra tour. During the Opera’s off–season, Laura enjoys traveling, preparing gourmetmeals and racing as an age-group triathlete.
