MLK Day Chapter Grants
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a key National Day of Service for AmeriCorps Alums, as thenation shines a spotlight on service and the important work alums are committed to 365 days ayear. Projects conducted on MLK Jr. Day of Service provide an excellent opportunity tomobilize Volunteer Leaders and help them learn new skills to impact the community.Throughthe generous support of the Points of Light Institute we are pleased to announce Martin LutherKing Jr. Day of Service mini-grants to our network of AmeriCorps Alums Chapters andPartners for the annual MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 18, 2010.At $250-$500 each, AmeriCorps Alums will fund and support chapters who identify the issues intheir local community that are most urgent…Read more and get the application here.DEADLINE: Friday, November 13, 2009 at 5pm EST.

We arethrilled since NCCC alumni continuallyshowcase extreme pride and commitment toservice! Hands on New Orleans wasfounded and is run 100% by alumni, forexample.Highlights in 2010: 1) National AmeriCorpsWeek grants to alumni chapters and NCCCcampuses to do projects and celebrationevents together May 8-15, 2010. 2) NewNCCC national blog and expanded socialmedia sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
