GIBI Course – The Gift of Grace
The Gift of Grace: A Measure from GodLesson 1
Ephesians 4:7, “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of thegift of Christ.”Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not out of yourselves, the gift of God.”Just as faith is measured unto us, so is grace. Grace, faith and salvation all are gifts of God.Grace: pleasing show, charm, beauty, graciousness, an act of favor, free favor, a gracious provision, a generous gift, loveliness, sweetness, merciful kindness.According to this verse in Ephesians, God has given us already, from the gift of Christ provided at salvation, the measure needed to fully provide for us a continuous provisionof benefits as we recognize its operation in us. The spirit possesses in total capacity themeasure of grace needed in one’s lifetime to fully provide the complete work of God for every situation and condition one must meet. God said to Paul, My grace (which I havein you is sufficient. Thus, Peter said, grow in grace. What it means here is, since youhave the grace in you, get in that grace and grow.II Peter 3:18, “But you grow in the center of grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”Grow: increase, augment, receive increase in His favors and benefits.Peter is saying, let His benefits take over. Let them take charge of your life. The more benefits we receive and enjoy the more we are growing in grace. Grace is not increasing, but we are increasing to dwell and operate in the center of His favors.II Corinthians 12:9, “My grace to thee is enough: for My power is perfected inweakness.”God’s grace is enough. It is completed in itself. Then it is saying with Peter and Paul, augment your existence in grace. Add to your daily living the benefits. You increase inthe use of the favors. This is learning to apply the benefits to everything in our life.Your spirit does possess a full measure of grace. Live totally in that measure and youwill be blessed by its flow of sweetness and kindness.2
