1 Get students to complete the sentences and then the crossword from the top down.

2 After students have read the text, they should fill the gaps with the words from the
crossword. Get brief feedback.
I don’t get up very early as I work in the afternoons. I then have a shower as I prefer them to
baths. I have breakfast at about ten o’clock, in a bar on my street and I read the Spanish
newspaper El País while I am eating. I go to the supermarket or to the park in the morning
and then have a sandwich for lunch. I catch the bus to work at about half past one. I start
work at about two o’clock. I finish work at about ten o’clock. When I get home I have dinner
and watch TV. In Spain people go to bed late, often at about twelve o’clock. I am normally in
bed at about half past twelve.

3 Get students to answer the questions from memory and compare their ideas with a
partner before checking against the text on page 28.
