.  The male gorilla grows  to abou t six  fee t high, and weighs up  to six hundred pounds.  The  female gorilla grows  to abou t  five  fee t high, and weighs up  to  two hundred pounds.  The gorilla is classi fied as an endangered species due  to  the pro jec ted gorilla popula tion declining  to a t  the highes t 50% due  to a decline in area o f occupancy.  The gorilla is  the larges t and mos t power ful prima te alive, bu t is a peace ful and sociable animal.
