Manchester Schools’ Conference
Dear Students and Teachers,We would like to say a huge thank you for attending Oxfam’s first ActiveGlobal Citizenship Conference and making the day such a great success.We hope you had a great half term and that you are now busy working onthe fabulous action plans you developed at the conference.We’ve been really busy since the conference too, taking action to ensurethat your messages are heard by decision makers. We have already taken the first steps by posting photographs of the dayonline – you can view them on Picasa athttp://picasaweb.google.com/oxfamnorthwestcampaigns/OxfamSActiveGlobalCitizenshipConference2009?feat=content_notification#
 
Post conference Events
We are now planning three events to present your work to a wider audience of decision makers.
The Oxfam House Atrium Display – Thursday November 19

The best displays produced by students, and photographs and speech action points from all four conferences will beexhibited at Oxfam House in Oxford.We have invited Oxfam’s Copenhagen team to the exhibition and we will feed back pictures of the event and the commentsof those who attended by email.If any schools have preparation work that they did not hand in at the conference it can be sent to Susanna Griffiths, PublicEngagement Team, Oxfam, Oxfam House, John Smith Drive, Oxford OX4 2JY for inclusion. 
Hand In of Students’ Work – No 10 Downing Street – Tuesday 1

December (provisional)
On Tuesday 1 December we will be handing in a huge book containing the work of all the students who attended theconferences to Gordon Brown at Number 10 Downing Street, letting him know what young people expect of him atCopenhagen.We will be able to bring a small group of young people along to the door of Number 10. (Please note that unfortunatelyGordon Brown will not personally be meeting us). If you would like your students to be involved please contact Jo-AnneWitcombe. In the event of more young people wanting to attend than we have places available, we will select by ballot.The hand in will take approximately 30 minutes and we expect regional press coverage. We will also invite members of theUK Youth Parliament attending the Copenhagen Conference to meet the students at the Oxfam office in Victoria prior tothe hand in.
Oxfam House – New Year 2010
In the New Year we hope to invite the schools that produced the best displays and achieved the largest numbers of actionsto a celebration at Oxfam House.
