1. General Business Update
Opening the meeting, Andrew Fairbank gave a general update on theCompany’s plans. A number of different staffing schemes were beingprogressed which were part of separate meetings. A number of capitalschemes had been put on hold due to the current economic climate.Andrew welcomed George Brown to his first meeting.Gate linesThe new gate line programme was rolling out with Aldershot having gonelive and Walton-on-Thames due to be commissioned in early April. Wideisle gates will be going in at most locations except Clapham St JohnsRoad.Car ParksThe original plans for multi-storey car parks are on hold with theexception of Southampton Parkway, which is still subject to furtherdiscussions with the local council and BAA.AccommodationThe scheme to relocate the CCSC to the Raft is part of a separateconsultation.
2. Use of Agency Staff
Andrew Fairbank gave details of the number of agency staff employed bythe retail function and confirmed there had been a substantial reductionin the numbers in the past four months. As soon as posts can be filledfollowing the displacement process the use of agency staff will reducefurther.
3. Revenue Protection Leave Arrangements
RMT advised that the current agreement on leave periods was not beingadhered to on stations it was confirmed that leave periods should be asfollows: -

4. Revenue Protection Rosters
RMT said that complaints were being received that base rosters were notfollowing an eight-week cycle contrary to agreements. Followingdiscussion Andrew Fairbank said that the matter would be taken up withlocal managers. It was further agreed that short notice changes would bediscussed at a future company council meeting.
 
Post meeting note: As part of the revenue consultation, base line rosterswill be rewritten in accordance with this agreement.
5. Payment of travelling time Core Commercial GPR ClerksFormer Portsmouth area
It was noted that letters had been received from the full time officialsof TSSA and RMT advising that the SWT offer made in their letter of 20
th
 November 2008 was not acceptable and requesting that this matter befurther discussed at Company Council level.There being no further offer from SWT, Employee Representatives said theywould be requesting this matter be dealt with in the next level of themachinery by a SWT Director and full time union officials.
6. Grievances
TSSA said that the time taken to resolve grievances was excessive.Management responded that monitoring took place to ensure grievances weredealt with in a timely fashion. Any specific cases should be referred toHR for investigation.
7. Uniform Issue
Andrew Fairbank advised that the uniform contact with Allen & Douglasexpired in December 2008. Another contract has been agreed with a newsupplier and the company are moving towards an ad hoc uniform issue. Ifreplacement items of uniform were required they could be obtained vialocal managers. Full details were given in the December On track issueavailable on Switch On or from local manager.
8. Avantix Update
Andrew Fairbank advised that Rod Tee had been appointed project managerfor the introduction of a replacement for Avantix machines. An order hadbeen placed and machines were due to come on line later this year. RodTee to be invited to attend the next meeting to give a full update.
